Here is one of our sites in the state forest of Mormal @ONF_Officiel This summer, we will download plenty of 🌡 data to show you the offset between open & 🌳 habitats in 🇨🇵 & to feed the great #SoilTemp database from the @SoilTemp_proj of @JLembrechts ➡️ Stay tuned 😀

You can zoom in to see the 3 state forests (Mormal, Blois, Aigoual) that we equipped last summer with a denser network of #microclimate loggers & which will be flown over this summer to get #LiDAR data of 🌳🌳🌳🌳 We will make the map more interactive as soon as we get more data

We have an amazing climate reference network of pristinely sited measurement stations here in the US. We should establish similar reference networks worldwide to provide high quality climate obs going forward, as @AGU_Eos discusses (w/ @climpeter and I) https://eos.org/articles/a-global-monitoring-system-could-change-the-future-of-climatology
